INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM POLICY:

At Shaheen Freight Services, Management and all Employees are committed to:

  1. Provide high quality services at competitive price to our customers.
  2. Ensure our services and operational activities to comply with Environmental, Health & Safety and all applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Achieve continual improvement in our processes through effective implementation of Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems (IMS).
  4. Ensure safe disposal of waste by utilizing responsible pollution control practices.
  5. Provide safe, healthy and helpful working environment to our staff.
  6. Make accurate information regarding Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety Management Systems available to customers, stakeholders, employees, government agencies and the public.

DRIVER RECRUITMENT POLICY:

At Shaheen Freight Services, we are committed to: Recruit all staff on the basis of Merit with minimum skills, knowledge and fitness criteria and no preference shall be given to cast, creed, color, race and language. We will check drivers on pre-defined Hiring standards on age, health, literacy, behavior & attitude, licensing, experience and employment history, which must be implemented and reviewed annually for recruitment of a driver in the organization.

DRUG & ALCOHOL POLICY:

Shaheen Freight Services recognizes the importance of safeguarding and promoting the Health and Safety of its employees, contractors’ employees and members of the public who may be affected by our work. The effective management of drug and alcohol abuse is an integral part of Shaheen Freight Services.

It is the policy of Shaheen Freight Services:

  1. To comply with all current legislation, in particular the Health & Safety at Work etc. Motor vehicle ordinance 1965, National highways safety ordinance 2000, and the prevention of road accidents order 1978.
  2. Not to knowingly permit any employee of Shaheen Freight Services, trade contractors, or anyone engaged directly or indirectly, to report for duty under the influence of alcohol or drugs, nor to consume these whilst on duty.
  3. To take suitable action, usually dismissal or termination of contract and, in certain circumstances, prosecution, against anyone found in breach of this Policy.
  4. Not to employ anyone, directly or indirectly, who has been dismissed for drug and/or alcohol related offences.

In following this policy, the Shaheen Freight Services:

  1. Carries out random testing once a year of all employees, i.e. Management, Drivers and worker Ratings including helpers, for alcohol abuse before or during the performance of their duties.
  2. Exercises strict control on issue of all substances prescribed for medicinal use on board.
  3. To endeavor to identify employees with possible alcohol and/or drug problems.
  4. To provide a positive approach to those employees seeking help or guidance to overcome alcohol and/or drug related problems.

SEAT BELT POLICY:

At Shaheen Freight Services, we are committed to achieving high standards of safety at all its work locations, including all company vehicles.

Seat belts are extremely effective in preventing injuries and loss of life. Therefore, all employees of Shaheen Freight Services must wear seat belts when operating a company-owned vehicle, or any vehicle on company premises or on company business; and all occupants are to wear seat belts and, where appropriate, use an restrained in place for active sleeper berth when riding in a company-owned vehicle, or in a personal vehicle being used for company business. Visitors to Shaheen Freight Services sites are also required to comply with this policy.

It is in a driver’s interest to wear a seat belt, therefore, our policy goes beyond the minimum legal requirement and uniformly requires that all employees, contractors and others working for us wear a seat belt when driving or traveling in a vehicle, regardless of the location or the type of vehicle.

Ensuring a safe workplace benefits everyone and safe workplaces can only be achieved when everyone participates and is committed, involved and contributing to improving safety.

Our staff are not to enter into any agreement to hire, lease or purchase vehicles that are not fitted with appropriate seat belts.

INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM POLICY:

We at SHAHEEN FREIGHT SERVICES endeavor to provide Quality and Safe Transportation services for Highly Dangerous Goods specially Dry Cargo, Chemicals, POL’s products, and Rig Movements to our valued customers by implementing following safe driving measures in Logistical and Distribution Operations.

At SFS only trained and qualified drivers are allowed to will operate company vehicles. SFS will arrange approved SFS defensive driving training course refreshers and skill assessments in every three year for each driver.

An approved driving monitor is to be installed and operated in all SFS vehicles with the most modern technological advantage of own satellite based Fleet Management System resulting the maximum of effectiveness AND Enable us to retain maximum customer satisfaction on our prevailing services. LOCATIONS are to have a program for receiving data and provided feedback to the drivers and management

Drivers are not allowed to initiate or receive phone calls or messages while driving this also include text messaging. Phones may be left on to receive messages, but the vehicle is to be safely stopped before listening to the messages or making a phone calls

Violations of the driving policy will force management to take suitable action, this may lead to dismissal or termination of employment and, in certain circumstances, prosecution, against anyone found in breach of this Policy.
